Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of nine players each. The game is played on a field with a diamond-shaped infield and an outfield. The main objective is for one team, the offense, to hit the ball and score runs by running around four bases arranged in a diamond shape, while the other team, the defense, tries to prevent scoring by getting players out through various means, such as catching a hit ball, tagging runners, or striking them out when they are at bat.

A standard baseball game consists of nine innings, where each team has a chance to bat and field. The team with the most runs at the end of the game wins. The sport involves skills such as hitting, pitching, fielding, and base running, and is governed by a set of rules known as the official baseball rules. The game is particularly popular in the United States, Japan, and several other countries, and is often referred to as America’s pastime.
