Cricket

Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each. The game is played on a circular or oval-shaped field, with a rectangular pitch at its center. The objective is to score runs by batting and running between the wickets, which are sets of three wooden stumps. One team bats while the other bowls and fields, attempting to dismiss the batsmen by hitting the wickets or catching the ball after it is hit but before it touches the ground. Matches can vary in length, including formats like Test cricket (played over five days), One Day Internationals (50 overs per side), and Twenty20 matches (20 overs per side). The team with the most runs at the end of the match wins. Cricket is known for its rich history and is particularly popular in countries such as England, Australia, India, Pakistan, and the West Indies. The sport is governed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) at the international level.
