Football

Football, also known as soccer in some regions, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each, typically on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s goal. Players primarily use their feet to move the ball, but they can also use any part of their body except their arms and hands, with the exception of the goalkeeper, who is allowed to use their hands within a designated area known as the penalty area.

Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, and it is played in accordance with standards set by international governing bodies, such as FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association). The sport is characterized by its emphasis on teamwork, strategy, and skill, and it is one of the most popular sports in the world, both in terms of participants and viewers. Major competitions include domestic leagues and international tournaments, with the FIFA World Cup being the most prestigious event in the sport.
