Spanish League

The Spanish League, officially known as La Liga, is the top professional football division in Spain. It is organized by the Royal Spanish Football Federation and features a league system where the best football clubs in Spain compete against each other. Established in 1929, La Liga consists of 20 teams that play each season, with each team playing 38 matches (19 home and 19 away). The league operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the second tier of Spanish football, known as La Liga 2. The team with the highest points at the end of the season is crowned the champion, while the lowest-ranked teams are relegated to La Liga 2. La Liga is renowned for its high level of competition, showcasing some of the world’s best players and clubs, such as FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. The league has a significant impact on both Spanish and global football, influencing player transfers, broadcasting rights, and football culture.
