Figure Skating

Figure skating is a recreational and competitive sport in which individuals, pairs, or groups perform on ice using skates. It combines elements of artistry, athleticism, and technical skill, featuring a variety of movements such as jumps, spins, and footwork sequences. Skaters are judged based on their technical proficiency, the difficulty of their routines, and the artistic presentation of their performances. Figure skating can take several forms, including singles (individual skaters), pairs (a man and a woman skating together), and ice dance (emphasizing rhythm and choreography rather than jumps). The sport is governed by the International Skating Union (ISU) and is featured in major competitions such as the Winter Olympics and World Championships.
